Hey guys! I have a few trips coming up and we allllll know I have an Amazon addiction (don’t we all though?!)
I wanted to share a few of my absolute favorite travel items that have very quickly become necessities for all my trips. If you have a vacation coming up, keep reading because I guarantee you’ll be adding some of these things to your cart!
First up are these packing cubes! I just started using these within the last year and I’m obsessed. Because I am a recovering over-packer, who plans all of her outfits so that I’m not bringing too much, these cubes help me stay so organized. You could do a cube for each day of your trip, or separate them by clothing items (one cube for dresses, one for swimsuits, one for pajamas, etc.)
I also have this HUGE fear of my suitcase busting open at baggage claim and tossing my belongings everywhere, so this alleviates that fear by knowing everything inside my suitcase is neatly packaged!
Next up is my mini travel fan! This can come in handy for a couple different reasons. I am the type of person that gets car sick very easily, so if I’m on a bus or in a backseat it’s best for me to have air blowing on me at all times. I even sometimes get nauseous with air turbulence, so it has helped with that as well. If you don’t get sick though, it’s also perfect for super-hot days or even setting your makeup!
Speaking of makeup, I’m sure we’ve all stayed in a hotel room with terrible lighting. You do your makeup the best you can, but when you step outside you realize it looks horrible! This mirror is so lightweight and has 3 different light settings.
Now, somewhere to store your makeup! So, I actually have 2 cases to share. Before the pandemic, this is the one I carried. I wore a full face of makeup almost every day, which meant I had a lot of product to carry. Over the last year though, I’ve actually really preferred a more natural, minimal look. This made me realize I was carrying WAY too much, so I switched over to this smaller pouch. Both are great cases for whichever kind of makeup-wearer you are!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but I’m very into neutrals, haha! I think this beige toiletry case is so cute and it matches my packing cubes perfectly. I love that it has several different pockets too! I also got Dalton this one to use, which is also nice and honestly probably has a bit more room than mine, but he’s not quite as organized as me and will toss literally everything in his whereas I separate items.
I know a lot of places will include beach towels to use, but I just stumbled upon these and think they are PERFECT! They are extremely lightweight so I feel like they would dry very easily and could be reused multiple times during a trip without getting stinky. They also roll up very small. I even plan on packing one in my carry-on for my next trip to use as a blanket if I get cold on the plane!
I ordered this on a whim and think it will 100% be my new carry-on or personal item of choice. I love the style, how durable it feels, and the space. I bought the large one and it even fits my laptop perfectly!
I do not bring full-size products if I can avoid it, so I love these little bottles! I just put enough product in them for my trip and put them into these little pouches in case they leak so it doesn’t make a mess. Saves so much room and weight in your luggage! There are cuter ones out there but I prefer basic, clear ones so I can see what is in them.
I just bought this and have only used it once, but so far, I really like it! I hate wrinkly clothes on a trip and this is small enough it doesn’t take up a lot of space.
Ever been somewhere and wanted your pic taken, but there’s nobody around to do it? This tripod is great! It folds down very compact and is easy to set up.
This case is great for bringing different jewelry with you and keeping it safe & organized at the same time! Nobody likes tangled necklaces or missing earrings when they go on vacation. Also here is another one I like that is good for short trips when you don’t need to bring a lot.
I totally realize this is not for everyone (sorry boys!), but before you keep scrolling or exit off my blog, hear me out…
Periods are a normal function of the female body and *need* to be normalized and talked about more. Tampons are not only terrible for you, they are terrible for the environment and expensive. I was once skeptical of menstrual cups too, but I’m telling you…once you try them, you’ll love them! I don’t shut up about mine and would literally shout it from the rooftops if it’d make other people switch too. I originally bought mine for a dive trip but now I use it every month. Why? Here’s a few reasons.
- You can wear it for up to 12+ hours. Yes, you read correctly. Not only is this fantastic for long travel days, but as a nurse, this was a game changer for me.
- Re-usable. Just wash in between uses. I have literally not bought a single box of tampons since switching to this. Do you realize how much money this has saved me?! Hello…more money for plane tickets!
- It has shortened my period by about 2 days. Why? Because tampons aren’t as absorbent as you think. They are basically preventing your period from coming out, thus can make it last longer. The cup is simply catching it and holding it until it’s time to take it out. Also, as a nurse, I can promise you that you don’t actually bleed as much as you *think* you do. The average woman only bleeds 6-8 teaspoons during their entire period, with most women with “heavy flows” losing less than 16 teaspoons. That’s not very much! So, if you’re worried about “overflowing’, it’s highly unlikely.
- They are super comfortable. If you think tampons are comfortable, you’re lying to yourself.
- If inserted properly, they don’t leak AT ALL!
I’ll stop there because I’m sure some people are uncomfortable with me talking about this, but I wanted to add it because it has honestly made travel much easier on me. If you have more questions please feel free to reach out, I am not shy! This is the one I have.
I just bought this to use during our honeymoon, so I’ll update this once I use it during our overnight flight! I am a big reader but hate disturbing other passengers by turning the overhead light on, so hoping this will be dim enough that it doesn’t bother anyone!
This is something I don’t think many people realize – not every country has the same style of outlets, OR they use a different voltage! You’d be pretty upset if you got to your hotel to realize your curling iron doesn’t plug in, or you end up accidentally frying it. I recommend researching ahead of time, so you know if you need this handy converter or not!
Have you noticed your phone dies faster while traveling than it does when you’re home? It’s because it is constantly traveling in and out of one tower’s range and into the next one, especially if it’s outside your primary network coverage, AKA “roaming”. Thus, it’s important to have a way to charge your device on-the-go! These power banks are super heavy duty and have a ton of great reviews.
I also encourage you to look into whether or not you’ll get extra charges from your service provider while traveling. I personally have Verizon and use TravelPass. It is $5 a day for use in Canada or Mexico and $10 a day in other countries. Worth it to know I’ll be able to use my phone almost everywhere I go!
I think that’s most of my favorite travel items! I am always looking for more handy-dandy finds, so if you come across anything that you think is useful, please let me know so i can try it out! Hope some of these are helpful. Happy traveling!! 🙂
