Nashville is the kinda place that makes you wanna toss on some boots, listen to some country music, and dance the night away!
I went last month for one of my friend’s 30th birthday and it was an absolute blast. I’ve written a blog on Nashville before but every time I return to a place I’ve been before I like to do something new. So, I figured it would be ok to write about it again!
My friend Hannah and I headed down a bit early for some sightseeing before meeting up with our friend. Our first stop was the life-size replica of the Parthenon that is in Athens, Greece!
I actually had no idea this existed until I was doing some research, and was pretty excited for a few reasons. Firstly, I love going somewhere and finding the “unusual”. Most people go to Nashville for the party (which trust me, we did plenty of that). But I also love architecture, sightseeing, museums, etc. So, this was pretty neat!
I also wanted to go because as some of you know, I’m supposed to go to Greece in August for our honeymoon. At the time of our Nashville trip, I still wasn’t sure if borders would open before then! So I wanted to see at least ONE Parthenon, even if it wasn’t the original. However, I’m happy to announce Greece opened its borders to US citizens who have been vaccinated or provide a negative covid test taken 72 hours prior to arrival! So fingers crossed that our honeymoon is still a-go and I’ll get to say I’ve seen BOTH Parthenons!
After we strolled around the Parthenon a bit, I wanted to go see some cool wall murals. Last time we came I visited the wing mural at the Gulch, so this time I wanted to see the iconic blue and white striped wall at Draper James and the “I believe in Nashville” wall, which luckily enough, were right across from each other! When I went to the Gulch wings last year the line was so long that it took probably close to an hour to get a picture. I don’t know if it’s always like that or not but thankfully there was maybe 5 minutes of waiting total for these murals and everyone was super polite.
There are several parking lots around it that you can pay to park at for a short amount of time so that’s what we did and then walked down the sidewalk to the murals. There are a bunch cute boutiques and restaurants in this area too so I would love to come back another day and explore it further. We also stopped and got some iced coffees at the Frothy Monkey, which were delicious! Highly recommend!
After this we checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which was super affordable for being downtown on Broadway, though it was a 5-10 minute walk further down the street to actually get to the bars. We were still waiting for the birthday girl and were pretty hungry so we walked over to Whiskey Kitchen for some burgers and drinks to help pass the time!
After KaLeigh and her husband got there, we got ready for a fun night out! Nashville was packed this weekend so it was kinda hard to get into bars; a few favorites like Tootsie’s and Dierks Bentley’s bar had crazy long lines. But we did really enjoy the live music at Legend’s Corner and the mechanical bull at Acme!
Eventually we got hungry again and KaLeigh was wanting to try Top Golf, so we grabbed an Uber there. Unfortunately, it was 2-3 hours before we could golf so we ended up eating there instead and heading back to hit more bars. However, lemme tell ya, the food at Top Golf is SO underrated. They literally have the best appetizer choices ever…I honestly wouldn’t mind going back just for the food! If you go, try the pretzels, mac & cheese bites, and the injectable donuts. You won’t regret it!
After more bar hopping we headed back to the hotel and went to bed, then woke up early the next day to head home since it was Easter Sunday. I absolutely love Nashville, no matter who you are with you are pretty much guaranteed to have a great time!
I hope this bog gave you some fun ideas for your next trip to Music City, don’t forget to go check out my blog post from last year here as well to get even more ideas! Thanks for reading!
I CANNOT wait to read about your Greece trip!!
I’m sooo excited!
I’ve been to Nashville a zillion times. as my daughters and sister live there. Frothy Monkey is great, I agree. Their breakfasts are good too. Red Bicycle has great breakfasts too!
I’ll definitely keep the Red Bicycle in mind for my next trip! Thank you!
