Everyone has a “bucket list”…what’s yours?
It can be activities, places, whatever you want! I’m a firm believer that everyone should step out of their comfort zones to experience new things.
I saw a quote on Facebook the other day that said, “You only live once, and you can always make more money, but not opportunity or time”. That really stuck with me! You see, often when I talk to people about my bucket list, they tell me “You’re lucky, I could never afford that!” Guess what? Sometimes, I can’t either! I’m just an ER nurse; I’m not making a ton of money. When you see me go on these trips, just know it’s something I’ve saved up and planned for…orrrrr worked a bunch of overtime for lol
Like when I went to the Philippines? That was the #1 country on my bucket list. It was a GOAL of mine to go, so I worked for it! I saved cash in an envelope, everything from rummage sale money to Christmas money, and in 2-3 years I had enough to pay for my plane tickets and still had some left over to take with me! Since starting that I’ve realized the envelope method is what works best for me, and I typically have 2-3 envelopes at a time that I put spare cash in to help me save (My current envelopes are labeled “Next dive trip”, “Next adventure”, and “Honeymoon”!)
Not to mention, not ALL travel has to be expensive. You can start small! Heck, a flight to Denver, Colorado runs less than $200 at times. Skip eating out for a few months and you can save that up easily! Plus, do your research and find other ways to save! (P.S. Would anyone be interested in a post about tips for saving + ways to travel for cheap? If so let me know!)
So, I figured if we are going to talk about bucket lists, I should share mine!
Let’s start with activities! Beware, my list is pretty long and just keeps growing! I’m sure I’ve even forgotten to list a few…
